Advances in modern medicine have given infertile couples many choices in creating their own family. It is very important that both you and your spouse are comfortable with the method you choose to use in helping a couple.
During your meeting with our staff and later with a counselor, we will discuss the available options with you. We will explain each program, the time needed and the number of doctor's appointments. Below is information for your consideration in making this very important decision:
- Artificial Insemination (AI) Program: (Traditional surrogacy)
The surrogate is inseminated with the sperm of the intended/natural father. This is a very low technology method. Usually there are no fertility drugs involved.
- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Program: (Gestational surrogacy)
The egg and sperm of the infertile couple are combined to create embryos that are implanted into the uterus of the surrogate mother. The surrogate mother carrying the child has no genetic ties to the child.
- IVF & Egg Donation (IVF/ED) Program:
Eggs from an egg donor are fertilized with sperm of the intended/natural father. Resulting embryos are implanted into the uterus of the surrogate mother. The surrogate mother carrying the child has no genetic ties to the child.
- Egg Donation (ER/ED) Program:
Eggs from the egg donor are fertilized with sperm of intended/natural father and resulting embryos are implanted into the uterus of intended/recipient mother, who carries her own pregnancy.
