Balancing Pregnancy and Life Needs
Surrogate mothers have a hard road to face. All pregnant women have the task of finding a balance between their needs as a pregnant woman and their responsibilities in all other facets of life. This need for balance can be challenging for women who are bearing a child for someone else. The following is a list of tips we have seen work for some of our clients here at CSP:
Take Time for Yourself
As a surrogate mother, you are doing something huge for someone else. This is an amazing service that you are offering, and the process can take a pretty big toll on your body. To find good balance, we suggest taking some time for yourself on a regular basis. Do something that is just for you, and focus on helping your stress levels to drop.
Express Your Feelings
The hormones in your body are going to magnify your emotions in some pretty intense ways. This can be hard to handle, especially if you are trying to deal with them all on your own. You need to find a good way to communicate these feelings in a healthy way. Talking to the couple you are having the baby for can be really helpful. We also have some psychological specialists to help you through tough moments. These feelings are all valid, and we want to help you work through them.
Be Good to Your Body
The struggles you will face through this pregnancy are very real, so it is important that you take care of your body. When you feel little desire to eat right or get the sleep you need, it can be helpful to remember that this is not something you are doing just for yourself. Think about the baby you are bearing and the loving parents you are helping. This perspective can help you make the right choices when it comes to these issues.

In the end, the most helpful thing you can do to strike the right balance between your life and your pregnancy is to keep the end goal in mind. You are helping to form a loving family, and there is no sacrifice too great for such a beautiful enterprise.
