Learn more about our surrogate requirements
As the oldest US surrogacy agency, the Center for Surrogate Parenting (CSP) has had 40 years to develop our surrogate requirements. These pre-qualifications help ensure both the gestational surrogate and hopeful parents have a safe and positive experience. They allow us to determine whether a woman possesses the physical and mental health to become a surrogate and carry a healthy pregnancy.
The surrogate requirements at CSP
Before applying to become a surrogate, make sure our lovely surrogates meet the following criteria.
- Between the ages of 21 and 41
- Have at least one child you are currently raising
- Financially stable and not receiving any government assistance
- Free of medications for anxiety or depression for at least one year under doctor guidance
- BMI of 31 or less
If you meet these surrogate requirements and want to take the next step to become a gestational surrogate, we applaud you. It is a rewarding experience that will change your life and enrich the lives of others.
Taking the next steps
If you meet our surrogate requirements, you can fill out our gestational surrogate application. After we approve your application, you will hear from one of our coordinators, all of whom were once surrogate mothers with CSP. Your coordinator will schedule a phone interview, an evaluation with a counselor and a basic medical screening.
We are here with you for each step. You will have access to our online portal where you can see the progress of your application and documentation. CSP has worked diligently for 40 years to make this process as smooth and easy as possible.
Our US surrogacy agency will work with you to find a match with hopeful parents. Our team will support you through the process of taking the medications and undergoing the embryo transfer. However, our support doesn’t stop there. We’ll be by your side through the entire pregnancy, making sure you have seamless communication with the hopeful parents and feel comfortable every step of the way.
Throughout the joyous process of bringing new life into the world, you will receive generous compensation and insurance coverage, if needed. You’ll also receive reimbursement for lost wages, a monthly allowance, childcare and travel expenses.
Who can you help with surrogacy?
As you consider whether to become a surrogate, know that you could be supporting a same-sex male couple or a single father, or a hopeful mother experiencing various fertility challenges.
- Unable to conceive or carry a child due to infertility
- Cancer treatments
- Recurrent miscarriage
- Other medical conditions that make a woman incapable of carrying a child
These hopeful parents are incredibly grateful for your willingness to consider surrogacy. Contact us to learn more about the surrogate requirements at our US surrogacy agency.
